Inner Dispersal Loop – pavement and bridge improvements

  • A $25 million project to reconstruct all pavement on the south leg of the Inner Dispersal Loop (US-75/US-64/SH-51) begin 1/2/19.
  • The southboundUS-75/westbound US-64/SH-51 lanes on the south leg of the IDL will close until further notice.
  • The southbound US-75 lanes of the east leg will also close to traffic until further notice.
  • Traffic will detour on other legs around the IDL in a counter-clockwise motion during this phase.
  • Significant delays can be expected on all downtown highway corridors, especially during peak travel times.
  • The project will also rehabilitate the eastbound I-244 ramp to northbound US-75/eastbound US-64/SH-51, the Houston St. bridge on the south leg of the IDL, and also the 6th and 11th St. bridges on the east leg of the IDL.
  • Traffic switches are expected later in the project to close the other directions of the south and east legs.
  • Specific lane and ramp closures will be announced in the daily Traffic Advisories section of odot.org as they are scheduled.
  • Project is expected to complete in early 2020, weather permitting.
  • Note: A separate but adjacent project to rehabilitate bridges on US-64/SH-51 (Broken Arrow Expressway) between Lewis Ave. and 15th St. is expected to start in early spring 2019. Further details will be provided as they are scheduled.
